TRAFFIC SCHOOL ONLINE INSTRUCTIONS

PLEASE READ FIRST: If you choose to take traffic school YOU MUST complete all of the steps below within 45 days from the date of your citation or else you will not be eligible to take the  traffic school online.  Please read all the information carefully to make sure you understand the process.  Failure to do so may, result in a conviction on your driving record.  Once you have read all of the information, you must click on the link at the bottom of this page to start the traffic school online.

Traffic school is only available for moving violations including speeding 1 mph to 25 mph over the posted speed limit..  If you are charged with 26 mph or above the posted limit, or a class B misdemeanor moving violation you are not eligible for traffic school.  If you have any questions of what other moving violations are considered for traffic school, please go to the Parowan City Justice Court Web Sight and click on Bail Schedule to view other moving violations.

TRAFFIC SCHOOL FEES INCLUDE:

ONLINE GoToTrafficSchool.com FEE: $29.99 to be paid to GoToTrafficSchool.com

COURT FEES: $60.00 Parowan City Court Administrative Traffic School Fee + ($) Fine amount determined by the Utah State Bail Schedule.  All fees are to be paid by Visa or Mastercard by contacting the PAROWAN CITY JUSTICE COURT with the exception of the $29.99 Online GoToTrafficSchool.com Online Course Fee.

REMINDER:  IF YOU ARE CHARGED 26 MPH OVER THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT YOU WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR TRAFFIC SCHOOL.

FINE AMOUNTS:

$90.00 + $60.00 = $150.00 for 1-10 MPH OVER LIMIT

$115.00 + $60.00 = $175.00 for 11-15 MPH OVER LIMIT

$165..00 + $60.00 = $225.00 for 16-20 MPH OVER LIMIT

$240.00 + $60.00 = $300.00 for 21-25 MPH OVER LIMIT

If you wish to take online traffic school YOU NEED to COMPLETE ALL of the following steps in this order, WITHIN 45 DAYS OF YOUR CITATION!  Traffic school only applies to a traffic citation, for a moving violation.  It is in lieu of points and or a conviction against your record, not in lieu of fines or fee’s.  The (traffic school online) consists of the following steps.

1.   You must first pay your violation fine that is determined by the Utah State Bail Schedule and the Parowan City Court Administrative Traffic School Fee of $60.00 by calling the Parowan City Justice Court at (435) 477-3940.   Fines and Traffic School Fee can be paid by credit card only.  The court only accepts Visa and Mastercard.   AT THE TIME OF PAYMENT YOU MUST INDICATE THAT YOU INTEND TO TAKE ONLINE TRAFFIC SCHOOL.    If you fail to notify the Justice Court at the time of payment that you are going to attend online traffic school the traffic citation will go on your driving record as a conviction.

2.  After you pay the violation fine and traffic school fee you must then successfully complete the online traffic school course WITHIN 45 DAYS OF CITATION.  GoToTrafficSchool.com will charge you a fee of $29.99 to take their online traffic school course.  This fee IS NOT in lieu of the above mentioned fees.

3.  Within one week after you have completed the online traffic school course, GoToTrafficSchool will send to the Parowan City Justice Court a certificate that shows you have completed your online course.  Your traffic citation will be dismissed when All Fines have been paid in full.

The Parowan City Justice Court WILL NOT send anything to you that states that you have been registered or have completed the course.  If you have any questions with any of this information, please call the Parowan City Justice Court at (435) 477-3940.
