NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Parowan City hereby gives notice that on Thursday, April 8th, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., a public hearing will be held in the Parowan City Council Chambers, 35 E. 100 N., Parowan, Utah, to hear comments regarding amending the Parowan City Cemetery Ordinance.   These amendments determine the policies for who may purchase burial rights, when they may be purchased and what the procedures are to purchase them. The ordinance also defines the duties of the Sexton, policies regarding burials, the placement of headstones and monuments, decorations and flowers placed on gravesites, perpetual care, and other additional requirements and uses.  A draft version of the Ordinance and Exhibit A are attached below.

The public is invited to attend this hearing and offer comments to the City Council.  Written comments may also be submitted to Callie Bassett, Parowan City Recorder at the aforementioned address, or mailed to P.O. Box 576, Parowan, UT, 84761.
